The day started off with Adele wanting to put on her Snow White dress right after breakfast. She was just a little excited. Henry thought it was so fun that he wanted his monkey costume on too. And then he wanted it off. And then on. And then off. And each time he put it on, he'd jump around for a few minutes howling like a monkey, and then he'd want it off.
We finally decided it would be ok to put the costumes away for a while (although Adele insisted on wearing her Snow White costume for naptime).
When David got home from work, Adele was just a little more excited than the excited she was earlier in the day. We got the kids ready and headed over to our friends' house. They live in an old neighborhood near the University of Oklahoma, which is a fun place to go trick-or-treating.
This year Adele had it down. She'd go up to each door, say her necessary "Trick or Treat," collect the candy, and head to the next door.
Henry never got it quite right.
He insisted on holding one piece of candy in his hand at all times. So, at most doors when presented with a bowl of candy, he got so excited about the new bowl that he would drop what was in his hand in the bowl and grab a new piece.
It was every parent's dream. :) At the end of the night, Henry only had a small handful of candy in his bag.
We went back to our friends' house and played some lawn games they had set up while the kids each ate a couple pieces of candy, and we called it a night.
Fun times, had by all.
